The Stilbaai Interests Forum (SBIF) has the interests of all the residents of Stilbaai and its immediate surroundings at heart, and not only of the ratepayers. The residents, amongst others, include farmers. The Stilbaai Interests Forum does not, however, represent the rates and service payers of Jongensfontein and Melkhoutfontein.

Because of the altered situation at the local government level in 2000, the Hessequa Municipality and the Eden District Municipality have become the service providers to residents of Stilbaai. New avenues have had to be created whereby the interests of the Stilbaai inhabitants can be served.

Home and property owners have large investments in Stilbaai and many people have chosen to continue their careers here. Therefore, as the residents of Stilbaai have a vested interest in the future of this town, it is necessary that as many members as possible are canvassed to establish a representative forum.

Residents (permanent and temporary) of Stilbaai can join the SBIF and by so doing help to protect their own interests. Application forms for membership are available and the membership fee amounts to R40 per year.
